Study Design
Study Design Background | Improvement of external x-ray beam radiation therapy of breast cancer by injecting barium based nano-particles. In-vivo test in a mouse breast cancer model. 30uL of Particles were injected intra-tumoraly after the tumor had overcome a size of 300 mm3. The tumor area was irradiated 10 times with about 1 Gy per session. 2 days after the last irradiation mice were sacrificed and the tumors explanted. Tumors have been formalin fixed and embedded in paraffin. Aim of the Synchrotron study was to localize the particles and overlay that with subsequently perform histological analysis. |
