Study Design
Study Design Background | Study of the effectiveness of two different gamma-irradiated bone graft materials for bone regeneration in rat femurs. Ex vivo imaging was conducted at three time points after surgical induction of femur defect (drill hole defect, 3 mm diameter at mid-diaphysis), followed by defect filling with two types of composites. In vivo micro-CT imaging was also conducted after surgery and before each study time point (before euthanasia) with the goal of qualitatively monitoring the bone healing process on a macroscopic scale |
